What to do in Red Rock...
- Swimming (swim across the river to the sandbar, wander up the banks then float back with the tide, or swim at the beaches).
- Snorkling (along the river and rock pools at Little Beach north of the Headland).
- Stand up paddle board, kayak, canoe hire (from the shop. Explore the estuaries and loop around toward the beach).
- Launch your boat, canoe or kayak at the boat ramp (3 minutes walk from the Sandbar Holiday House).
- Rock, kayak, or boat fishing (the convenience shop sells bait and ice).
- Surfing or body boarding (Main Beach at Red Rock, 5 minutes walk from the Sandbar Holiday House. Alternatively, Arrawarra Beach 10 minutes drive south of Red Rock is one of the best surf breaks on the Mid North Coast, particularly for long boards and stand up paddle boards).
- Fish n chips or an ice cream from the shop.
- Picnic (at the neighbouring reserve, find a private spot along the banks, or take the picnic basket up to the headland).
- Playground for children & large park (let the kids loose on the play equipment and large grassed area for ball games in the neighbouring reserve).
- Cricket (there is a concrete cricket pitch in the centre of the recreation reserve).
- Tennis (there is a tennis court next to the Bowling Club).
- Bike riding (Red Rock is a quiet holiday village with no through traffic so is generally pretty safe for the kids to ride around on bikes/scooters).
- Nature walks: - 800m boardwalk (along the estuaries - a haven for bank fishing, bird watching, or having a quiet spell by the river).
- Wander down Main Beach for a 5km beach walk into Corindi for a well earned ice cream or have coffee/lunch at the cafe.
- Dolphin & whale watching (from the headland, whales can be seen May - November).
- Bowling Club - bare foot bowls, a punt, or a meal and a drink (The Bowling Club is only 3 minutes walk away from the Sandbar Holiday House).
- 4x4ing (Barcoongere Way 10 minutes drive north from Red Rock is the gateway to a vast array of 4x4 tracks, fire trails, and logging roads throughout the Barcoongere State Forest and Yuraygir National Park. It is also the access road to Station Creek and breathtaking beaches at and around the remote Pebbly Beach Camping Ground, only accessible via beach 4x4).
